A goal without a plan is just a wish.
And let's level, wishes are a silly. Sure, it's fun to ponder what could be but without a good plan to make it happen, chances are your wish ship set sail without you on it.
You need to get a plan. And not just any plan. You need a first-rate, top-tier, Sun Tzu-like plan that will get your job done right. A well-thought plan born of clarity, foresight, and tenacity. Clarity to recognize who you are and where you're at. Foresight to glean where you want and need to go. Tenacity to stay the course - through think and thin - to get what you need done. |
But there are only so many hours in a day and you're just one person. You could wish for a clone but again, wishes are silly. And seriously, you'd probably strangle it within the first day of its sad, short life.
So, don't just wish for your goals to happen. And definitely don't wish for a clone. You know it's not going to work out. Most of all, don't despair. There's a better way. You're not alone in your plight. I do deadlines like Clark Kent, goals like David Beckham, and plans that get goals done like Sun Tzu. On time and under budget (like the government wishes it could). |
Go ahead. Take credit. Get that promotion, praise, or raise.
I don't mind (unlike your could-be homicidal clone).
I don't mind (unlike your could-be homicidal clone).
Get what you need done right. Right away.

Expert marketing stategist in a loving, but plainly one-sided relationship with wordsSo, you'd like to know when, where, and how words and I got together.
Well, it wasn't love at first sight. To tell the truth, it was pretty hairy to start. If you want to hear more about how we hooked up, read on. It's safe for work. I promise. |
Helping organizations help peopleI've been fortunate to work with some incredible organizations that
go above and beyond to help people remove barriers and solve real problems. From making sure everyone (no matter their net worth) has access to competent and ethical financial advice to helping secure a seat at the policy table for those with disabilities. From launching a Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for the State of Colorado to helping raise over $270K in one night to provide camperships for kids whose parents can't afford summer camp. I'm thankful to have worked with organizations where the greater good is at the core of what they do and central to why they do it. |
